Psychotherapy
The Journey Inward is the Journey Home.
It’s time to return to the safety, wisdom, and wholeness within.
Welcome to Makom: Home Within
I’m Meira Shupack, licensed clinical social worker, lifelong student of the healing arts, and founder of Makom.
My work is rooted in Relational Somatic Therapy, which is just a clinical way of saying we’ll work with you as a whole being—body, mind, heart, and soul—in the context of your relationships, your history, your culture, and your nervous system.
Relational means healing happens in connection, through relationship, trust, and presence. Humans are wired for connection; when we feel seen and supported in relationship, we grow.
Somatic means “of the body.” Your body holds your history—your joys, your heartbreaks, your survival strategies, your wisdom. You just need to learn how to listen.
At Makom, we don’t separate your mind from your body, or your healing from your humanity.
We tune in.
We slow down.
We let your body speak—through tension, stillness, sensation, and breath.
Because when you learn how to feel safe being present in your body, you learn how to feel safe being present in your life.
And when you feel safe in yourself, you start to remember…
You’ve been home all along.
So when we work together, we’ll invite your body into the conversation—gently, respectfully, and at your own pace.
Because real healing doesn’t just happen in your head.
It happens when your body feels heard, when your nervous system feels safe enough to relax, and old protective patterns are allowed to shift.
It’s time to return to the wisdom and wholeness within.
Why the Mind-Body Connection is So Important
Most of us were never taught how to be with ourselves. We were taught to think, to fix, to do what we had to do to push through, often overriding our intuition.
But healing isn’t something you can plan or calculate. You have to feel your way through.
Your body is not just a vessel; it’s your oldest companion. And every experience you’ve ever had has left an imprint.
When you ignore what your body has to say, you miss half the story.
By gently tuning into physical sensations, breath, movement, and stillness, you can learn to listen differently. You can begin to release stuck emotions and patterns, making space for healing and new ways of being.
Because when you bring care and curiosity to those inner landscapes, something profound happens: you feel less overwhelmed. Your mind doesn’t race the way it used to. Your shoulders don’t feel as tense. Patterns and habits you’ve struggled with begin to shift.
That’s the power of relational, somatic therapy—it doesn’t just help you understand yourself. It helps you feel at home in your own skin.
This is not about fixing you. This is about remembering that you were never broken.
Who I Serve: Guiding You Back to the Home Within
The work we’ll do together isn’t about changing who you are.
It’s about rediscovering the wisdom of your body and coming home to the peace and clarity that already live within you.

Coming Home Begins with One Brave Step
Coming home to yourself is not a linear path. It’s a winding, tender, deeply human journey.
It’s about remembering you’re whole.
It’s a conscious laying down of your armor, honoring your rhythms, and listening to the wisdom that’s been there all along—in your breath, your body, your being.
Here, all of you is welcome.
The parts that ache.
The parts that hope. And the parts that are still finding their voice.
With presence. With reverence. With deep respect for what you need.
Waiting to walk you home.
You Don’t Have to Find Your Way Alone
It takes courage to reach for a new beginning. Let’s have a conversation about what you’re seeking, and how I can support you on your journey.
No pressure. No performance. Just a conversation about what’s calling you forward and whether this path feels like yours.
